Yes. You may install up-dux vents to exhaust the air through your attic and out the roof vents. By exhausting cool air through the attic, you can reduce the temperature of this hot spot and make your home more comfortable. It is important to remember to provide adequate exhaust in the attic area. Provide 2 sq. ft. of relief for every 1,000 CFM of air delivery. However, it should be noted that up-dux do not provide adequate relief air during the hot peak season.
You should open your windows until the air pressure inside the house is nearly balanced with the air outside. One method used to determine when air is reasonably balanced is to place a tissue paper against the screen in the window furthest from the cooler and adjust the opening of the other windows in the house until the tissue paper stays lightly on the screen. You’ll need 2 Square feet of unrestricted air opening through doors or windows for every 1,000 CFM’s of air produced by the cooler.

No, it is recommended that soft water equipment not be attached to any water lines going to the cooler. “Soft Water” may cause corrosion and decrease the effective life of the cooler.
Regular maintenance is essential and we recommend at a minimum of three times during the season for cooling comfort, extending the life of the cooler and to avoid unnecessary parts replacement. This service should be at start-up, mid-season and shutdown. Refer to the Owner’s Manual for a complete maintenance schedule.
Yes, the universal design works in any cooler. The Power cleaning system comes ready to install in just minutes and never needs adjusting. It is installed along WITH your existing primary re-circulating cooler pump.
The Power Cleaning System keeps the evaporative cooler cleaner, uses less water than traditional bleed-off methods. The result is cleaner, more efficient pads, less scale build-up, and fresh, cool clean air.
The PCS115 Power Cleaning System will automatically replace the water in your cooler with fresh, clean water every 12 hours of pump operation. This will flush out the old, mineral-laden water in the pan and bring in all new clean water.
A bleed-off system is included in window and whole house coolers and should be installed as instructed in the Owner’s Manual. An optional alternative to the bleed-off system would be the installation of a Power Cleaning System, which is a standard feature of the Aerocool Pro-Series units.

The purpose of a bleed-off is to continuously eliminate a small quantity of water from recirculation, allowing fresh water to enter the reservoir to reduce scale build-up and dilute mineral concentrations. ¼” copper tubing when not secured to solid surface near cooler will cause water hammering, all the way down the copper tubing to where it is connected to solid supply line. Secure 1/4″ copper tubing with rubberize hose clamp.
On AeroCool coolers, secure ¼” tubing within 18″ where tubing is attached to side of wet section.

When water is first introduced to the cooler the glue that holds the media together may emit an odor that smells offensive. This smell will go away after the media has been soaked well and rinsed. Run the pump long enough to wet out the pads and then dump the water. Repeat the process. Finally you can add a cap full of Downy liquid fabric softener to the water before restarting your cooler. This should make the smell go away.
Drain, flush and clean the reservoir. Ensure the cooler has a bleed-off or Programmable Drain Pump installed. You may need to clean or replace pads. If you have new pads you should run your pump with out the blower for a period of time to wash out some of the smell, during which time you also dump the sump of the water that has washed the pads.
If the water is not coming from the bleed-off or Power Cleaning Systems™ systematic flushing you may need to adjust the float or replace it. Refer to the Owner’s Manual for float adjustment instructions.
You may have inadequate exhaust. Open more windows or doors. For every 1,000 CFM of air delivery 2 sq. ft. of unrestricted air relief is required.
Check the water distribution system to make sure there is sufficient water to the pads and check pads to ensure they are not clogged. If pads are not wet, check to see if recirculating pump is operating. Follow the procedures in owner’s manual for servicing the pump. Remove the pump from cooler and plug it into another electrical outlet. If it still not working replace pump. Remember to periodically check the pads, clean them and/or replace as needed.
SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating) is a measure used for air conditioners. It refers to the BTU/hr of cooling, per watt of electricity. Evaporative coolers are rated by CFM, (Cubic feet per minute), of air flow. Since blower motors consume electricity based upon the horsepower Betfair appof the motor, there is no energy rating that is the same as the compressor units.
